Crisa, an Airbus Defence and Space company, is a reference supplier of complex on-board electronics for space. More than 28 years’ experience and 750 electronic units flown into 170 space missions back Crisa’s capabilities in the design and manufacturing of complex electronic equipment for satellites and launchers.
The company’s activities cover a wide product range like:
Electrical propulsion electronics
Front-end electronics and video processing
On board computers
Remote terminal units
Power distribution units
Power control units
At the moment, the company is working on key programs like Ariane 5 and Vega launchers, the ATV vehicle and Eurostar platform. Also in well-known satellites like the Sentinels 2, 3, 4 and 5P, Ingenio, Paz, BepiColombo, EarthCARE, SolarOrbiter, Meteosat Third Generation or Metop Second Generation.
Crisa has expanded its engineering and project management skills in other ground segment projects. Some of these projects include network architecture design for secure communications; control center implementation, operation and maintenance; archiving and cataloguing systems; remote operation.
Crisa is able to provide reliable electronics designed for harsh environment like space or under no-maintenance conditions. The company has also a strong knowledge of system engineering and project management.
Crisa is fully integrated in Airbus Defence and Space, a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. The new division is Europe’s number one defence and space enterprise, the second largest space business worldwide and among the top ten global defence enterprises. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately €14 billion per year.
The Manufacturing and Test department integrates 80 people, including well-trained and experienced ESA certified technicians. The yearly production capability is about 70 fully terminated and tested flight units.
Positive results in space projects strongly depend on a high level of quality assurance during the design and production phases, principally in accordance with ESA/ECSS standards embedded in the Quality Management System certified according to EN9100, PECAL/AQAP 2110 and ISO 9001
